Jesse C. Colman was a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors from 1921 to 1947. In 1961, when he was eighty-two years old, he was reappointed to serve a term on the Board of Supervisors by San Francisco's mayor, to serve out a former board member's unexpired term.
